At first glance, How to Fish appears to be a tranquil low-poly fishing game. However, within minutes of washing ashore, players realize it is a chaotic 1–4 player survival simulator. Developed by Dazed Games and available on Steam, the game thrusts players into an unforgiving archipelago where the marine life refuses to go quietly into your cooler.
You must actively manage hunger meters by grilling your catch on open flames, defend your stockpile from thieving seagulls, and navigate treacherous waters between islands. Flying Fish launch themselves out of the water, allowing skilled sharpshooters to execute mid-air trick shots (including the coveted 360 no-scope) for a massive 5x kill-score cash multiplier.
Once you've built up cash reserves, head over to the island casino. Bet your earnings on the roulette wheel (green pays 35x, Red/Black 2x, and a green win unlocks the "All in" achievement) or pull the slot machine for randomized payouts. Unlock the grill on Island 3 and hold fish, bait, or other sellable food over the heat until it reaches the golden-brown sweet spot. Its sell value climbs up to 1.5x — but leaving it until it chars black destroys the item entirely.
When the Pufferfish boss explodes into loot, seagulls will relentlessly attempt to carry off the Pufferfish Tail. Always assign one teammate to sprint the trophy directly to the NPC while others provide covering fire.
Keep an eye out for rare fish sporting sunglasses or neon scales (such as the Drippy Urchin). These sell for a massive premium and trigger rare Steam achievements.
